K Love hosted her annual birthday  show entitled A.L.K.A.L.I.N.E  It was  a show dedicated to wholistic healing of  body and soul featuring a tribute to they lyrical healing of  Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Nina Simone, and Erykah Badu.   First off let’s get into K Love’s artistry, simply put she is a lyrical anomaly. There are very few people who come close to the passion and delivery that she has.  She is an artist that not only talks about working she actually backs it up with the fruits of her labor as evidenced by L.Y.R.I.C. a group that she affectionately mentors.  I was able to attend the first scene of K Love’s show and it was simply off the chain. Her tribute to Lauren Hill was great! She brought an energy to the stage that only should could.  The setting was intimate but packed at the Refuge Live on Clark street in Chicago’s Loop.
