Open mics are in abundance! It’s one thing to host an open mic but it’s another thing to keep one alive and growing!  Solace Souls Coalition hosted it’s 2 year celebration for it’s open mic on January 15th 2017 at the Quarry Event Center at 2423 East 75th Street. It was indeed a packed house! The event was hosted by Dragnflyy and Wisdom Speaks. The headliners were Chicago’s very own K. Love who has touched the lives of many through her poetry as well as her work with Lyric Squad and The Princess project and Prentice Hall “The first poet to ever appear on The Arsenio Hall Show and the only one to appear three times. He has made five consecutive appearances on all five seasons of TV One’s Verses and Flow, 2013 NAACP Image Award Nominee,the 2007 spoken-word artist of the year at the Black Music Awards and 2006 Oakland and San Francisco Grand Slam Champion. Needless to say their performances were great and loaded with seeds of wisdom!  Solace Souls has grown in quality  & size  its premiere and we look forward to its continual growth!
